ASI maintains the most current hardware and software
available for the Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) system.
This allows us to download the CDR systems on a
growing number of GM, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles.
Crash data can be contained on small modules
located at various positions in a vehicle. We simply
connect to that module by one of several ways and
copy any crash event data that may have been
recorded. In some cases, CDR vehicle coverage
extends back to the mid 1990's.
Depending on the vehicle model; downloads can
provide valuable crash information like vehicle
speed, brake status, engine speed, seat belt status,
and velocity change statistics. The information
gained in these downloads can be critical to the
reconstruction of a crash.
