
Ben Smith was born and raised in Hattiesburg,
Mississippi. He graduated from Forrest County
Agricultural High School in 2001 as a hall of
fame inductee and with special honors. He
began his college career in 2001 at Pearl River
Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi. In
addition to playing intercollegiate baseball,
Ben studied physics, mathematics, and
chemistry at PRCC until 2003.
In 2003 Ben moved to the University
of Southern Mississippi to complete
his course work. He graduated from
USM in 2005 with a B.S. in Biological
Sciences and dual minors in
Chemistry and Forensic Science.
He began his career with ASI
Investigations in 2003 working with cad software
and assisting with scene surveys. In 2005 Ben
moved to Orlando, Florida to
participate in an advanced science
internship program.
Currently, he is working full-time with ASI as a
associate reconstructionist. Ben is a certified
CDR technician and data analyst, has
completed all three levels of crash
reconstruction, is certified as a Vista Fx animator
and diagrammer, and has given several guest
lectures and presentations on forensic mapping
at the University of Southern Mississippi and to
divisions of the United States Army Military
Police.
Ben now resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi with
his wife Laura.
